I only recently gone on to the web for the first time and find it quite difficult to understand all these different things, i.e. sites, blogs, twitter, social bookmarking etc. So I greatly appreciated your article.
Thanks, AnnaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15217270.post-57140446545150760722008-11-14T14:39:00.000+00:002008-11-14T14:39:00.000+00:00I'm not sure how you'd stop the Wayback Machine fr...I'm not sure how you'd stop the Wayback Machine from Twitter since you cannot get into the coding, but you can stop it on your blogs, even blogger, and your websites.

You'd have to make a robots.txt page and put in a disallow code, like:
User-agent: ia_archiver
Disallow: /

I also blogged about twitter thanks to some great feedback from the industry. You can read them here:
http://thedabblingmum.blogspot.com/2008/08/using-twitter-to-promote-your-business.html

or in a more condensed format here:
http://thedabblingmum.com/business/socialnetworking/index.htm

I'm still working out the kinks with Twitter. I don't follow a lot of people becuase I really like to interact with the people I follow. I tend to stop following people who don't interact back, otherwise it's just like a blog where people read and move on.

But I do include a daily tip for those who want something to look forward to and updates from my blogs, plus life. I think Twitter can be rather addictive, too so I keep to checking only a couple of times a day.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15217270.post-76187217838175390132008-04-22T15:31:00.000+01:002008-04-22T15:31:00.000+01:00Great post, Tina! I am leading a class right now that is teaching artists how to use new media like Twitter and blogs and social networking to get the word out about their art, meet other artists, and expand their communities. I know they will be interested in your take on Twitter and its usefulness to an artist. Thanks so much for sharing!

BethBeth Dunnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09179728779067916726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15217270.post-81725841899471154512008-04-19T10:40:00.000+01:002008-04-19T10:40:00.000+01:00Hi pamdora - always nice to meet another Alyson fa...Hi pamdora - always nice to meet another Alyson fan. :)

And thanks for the tip Gary!
I didn't know you could control Way Back Machine in any way, so that's really good for artists to know. I personally kinda like going back and seeing how awful my web design was! Haha! Especially since I've designed it myself since the beginning.Tina Mammoserhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18407199513409994699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15217270.post-19804891912696953092008-04-19T10:34:00.000+01:002008-04-19T10:34:00.000+01:00Hi Tina,I found your blog (which I find informativ...Hi Tina,
I found your blog (which I find informative and a good read too - no mean feat!) from a link from a quote from a blog I'd subscribed to :)
Just for reference, you can stop wayback machine archiving your website (if you pay to host it yourself) via excluding their robot (add a line to your robots.txt). You can also ask them to remove anything they've archived of yours if you email them from their site.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15217270.post-73759205903713218952008-04-19T02:35:00.000+01:002008-04-19T02:35:00.000+01:00It's funny Tina, I found your twitter account beca...It's funny Tina, I found your twitter account because I happened to read the comments on one of Alyson's post (don't do that often, maybe never) and saw your post that said "I also Twittered this." I had just signed onto Twitter and had searched for artists to follow through the search engine. But there were too many artists, so gave up. Was glad to see your post then and be able to follow an artist. Thanks for the link!PaMdorahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14673157255405327125noreply@blogger.com
