My eyes are weird. I can see very keenly, better than 20/20 with glasses. People seem amazed I can read the route number on a bus at about 500ft away. My peripheral vision is only just starting to change, but I can spot things to the side extremely well and take in a large span of area. (This was one reason my varifocals were a fail.) My colour sensitivity is strong both in real objects and onscreen.

So alongside regular all-the-time glasses I also have reading glasses, screen glasses, sunglasses, and bifocals.
My biggest worry is always when my middle distance gets weary, which it often does.
This is, essentially, painting distance. Across a room, or the distance you stand in a gallery. If my eyes are getting over tired with that distance it means one of two things.
- The weather is changing. Atmospheric pressure changes definitely make my eyes go wonky.
- My prescription has changed. A few weeks of headaches usually means my astigmatism has shifted very slightly.
So all these glasses are my tools too. At least I can be colourful!
Keeping me eagle-eyed for those views of the coast!
Links I thought I'd share, too!
- I get my glasses from goggles4u.com, who I'd recommend and they're international
- There's a very interesting TED talk on how gamers have better vision: http://www.ted.com/talks/daphne_bavelier_your_brain_on_video_games.html
