Sketching skies

Back at the beginning of May artist Vivien Blackburn issued a challenge, to sketch skies from observation while she was away travelling.

I took up the challenge and decided to sketch the sky from my studio window each day in pastels. Quite enjoyable although in typical Murphy's Law fashion I then had the same clear blue sky every day!

All pastel on watercolour paper:

Vivien is going to post all the artists who took part in the project, so I'll add a link when it's live.

Sounds like a great idea for a project - I might have to do something similar :) Yours look lovely!

Indeed, Murphy and "that law" turns up everywhere!
I've done mine, but am just going to try to capture a rainbow before it turns into a downpour!

Nice pieces, Tina. Watch out though -- skies are addictive! :-)
