It seems you have very busy days in your new studio. Best wishes for your open studio.
Glad to see you are busy...may is a busy time for artists we all seem to wake up!
love your Latest small ones any news on what your next theme is?
You know what is right angles? Cliffs of course!!!
Good luck with the open studios
Hey, Cycling Artist, enjoy your blog. I have a question about painting the sides of canvases (when you get a mo' - I see you're busy). I see your stack of canvases with the paint extending to or nearly to the edges. Do you stretch first or paint first? I've seen many artists who paint on unstretched canvas. I stretch then paint, but don't then paint the sides. I'm wondering if I need to switch.
Thanks, Lisa
P.S. Sorry for Anon. post - Typepad wouldn't let me log in to post - here's my site: http://klisaanne.typepad.com/lisas_day/
Hi Lisa - those paintings you see are actually quite an exception. I painted them on unstretched canvas first, using some remnants, and then bought MDF to wrap them around. :)
Usually I paint on pre-stretched canvas and paint the sides white when I'm done.
