Last Tuesday night after two wines and a very large cider, sketchbook notes:
Info on wall at exhibition includes my set text about relations of horizontals and the canva - I think that's no longer relevent - have hit that mark & pushing further now. Now my interest is in pursuing the elusive colour fields & how they can relate to figurative (actual) parts of the landscape - sea, sky, shore. So the horizons still there but not the goal anymore, not the thing to push.
Don't want to break down into complete colour fields & lose the relation to objective subjects - so how to push & pull the space & keep some aspect of reality? Not recognisable but near it, a sense of place - rather than complete abstraction. They're still about place.
Pondering...
