Hanging around the new studio...

And am I getting ready for the exhibition? Am I painting those white sides? Nah.

I'm in the studio sawing 2"x3"s, cursing quite a bit, and screwing them to the joists in the walls. I'm also doing the last coat of floor paint, one side of the studio at a time. And I got lots of strange goodies at B&Q that I'll probably need, though maybe not. Plus I did some online and print ads for 2.73 Miles and my upcoming open studios (June).

The one indulgence I allowed myself today was a wall hook for my bike. I really wanted to be able to hang the bike on the wall in the studio - it needs to come upstairs for safety's sake and hanging it vertically means it takes up very little floor area.

I desperately want to actually move in and start some new Dorset coast paintings. I am starting to understand the strange combination of excitement and frustrating that Lisa Call blogged throughout her new studio build. Fortunately the van is booked for next Tuesday evening so there's not much longer to wait...

Photos: the timber awaits; sawing and drilling to get the framework up; the finished walls and floor!

Hi Tina,

see you are getting on with the space rather swiftly! Looks good, i feel almost jealous i can't be there now :)
Just arrived in Sweden, last night, it is snow all over here and the sense of detachment.
Good luck with the RA.

Keep in touch. V
