(Greenwich) Park Life

First real working day in the studio and it's so great! Brought my pack lunch (peanut butter, oakcakes, beetroot, apple) and settled in for the day. I not only sketched my ideas for Greenwich Park paintings - including 4 new ideas from photos I took in the park on Tuesday - but I even put them down on canvas and painted a defining underlayer! Yes, they will be softer and more "me" when they're done. But for now I'm enjoying working with the crisp lines and perspective.

I've been excited about the idea of this series for a while now, but not excited about doing them. Which goes to show what energy the new space is giving me! No more cramped working - I could spread out everything on the table - canvases, paints, computer, sketchbook and all!

And my mom send me a pretty bunch of flowers to christen the new studio! Thanks mom! :) They were on the worktable until I nearly knocked them over for the third time - they're safer up on the shelves.

Looking forward to tomorrow.
