Back on the bike?

Is it time for another cycle trip? With my map of England finally up on the studio wall, I'm itching to go somewhere new. Chatted with studio neighbour about places we've been, emailing old acquaintances about where they live now on the coast, new studio crying out for new paintings...

In all seriousness, I will finish some more Dorset coast paintings first. Though during May it seems sensible to take a week and get in the next stretch. June is Greenwich Open Studios (the site is *very* out of date, sorry, and that's my job) and then I'm in the USA for a month, back in mid July just in time for Urban Art. And I don't usually ride in summer. So that would mean a dearth of new material until September.

So should I get a bit ahead on reference material and inspiration in May? Something to return to for July? Where to go? A few day jaunts? Jump to Devon? Over to the Blackwater area and West Mersea? Or around the Wash?

CORNWALL!!!!! you'll love it - Sennen Cove, Cape Cornwall, views from the moorland out to the sea .......

If you are thinking of the Wash, go to Hunstanton and do the stretch from there to Wells next the Sea

The foot of the Wash is inaccessible and dangerous

There is a youth hostel at Burnham Deeping I think it is - one of the Burnhams anyway

Cornwall is a must Tina. If not this time, you must pencil it in for a future project. Although you'd probably need more than three days to do it justice.

Devon would be nice too, it's hilly though but it's more "pretty" than Cornwall which can be quite rugged.

River Blackwater, Mersea Island etc. would be reasonably flat but the water based areas where you would go does tend towards mud. Interesting all the same assuming the light is right.

Good Luck in your new studio by the way - it's looking good.
