Surprise for me:
After pulling off the multiple masking tapes (an experiment) from the Storm painting (itself an experiment) I discovered that it wasn't quite the light underlayers I thought I remembered but bright ultramarine blue glazes. Gah!!! You can read more about my nightmare with this on the Watermarks blog too.

Just to prove that I do own jars of red paint. And use it once in a while. So here's a sneak peak at part of the first finished painting from the Dorset Coast series - Bracken by Little Sea.
